This service, which is not a hydrostatic test, verifies the unit is safe for another 6 years. 

 Hydrostatic testing is a mandatory safety procedure that uses water pressure to check fire extinguisher cylinders for leaks, structural defects, and corrosion. It ensures the vessel can safely hold pressure, required every 5 or 12 years depending on the type. 

 An annual fire extinguisher inspection is a, mandatory, certified, and comprehensive check (often called an annual maintenance check) that, in accordance with NFPA 10, requires a certified technician to inspect the physical condition of the unit, verify proper pressure, check for damage, ensure accessibility, and replace the tamper seal.
